Camping for all users of the SHNF is restricted to designated campsites from September 20, 2025 through January 25, 2026 (one week before the start of archery season and one week after the end of youth/muzzleloading season). During hunting season wear orange in the National Forest for safety and camp only in designated camps. The designated hiker camps are conveniently located and may be used throughout the year. The hiker camps are primitive (although some may have fire rings, tent pads or benches).
